History
Howell Industries was founded in March of 1965 by Dr. R. P. Howell, a retired surgeon. Dr. Howell enlisted B. L. Hebert as his Vice-President / Manager. They started out in Lake Charles at 212 W. Pine St. in an old brick building that is now known as Polaris Engineering. With limited equipment and five employees they started a company that would grow to what it is today. W. D. Blake took over as President in 1971 upon the death of Dr. Howell. Both W. D. Blake and B. L. Hebert remain in their positions as President and Vice-President with Guy Smith holding the position of General Manager Since 1997. In 1979 Howell Industries was relocated to a brand new 20 acre facility located at 1650 Swisco Rd, in Sulphur LA. At the new location Howell Industries has continually expanded into what it is today. A facility with nearly 50 employees and over 50,000 sq. ft. under roof of shop space. A machine shop capable of machining nearly anything that is possible. A weld fabrication shop that holds a "U" stamp certificate enabling us to build and certify pressure vessels to A.S.M.E. codes, a "R" stamp certificate to certify repairs under N.B.I.C. to existing certified vessels.
